So, what do you do? – I help athletes develop their brand and online identity.
I was born in Alexandria, Virginia, but raised in Meridian, Idaho. After high school, I attended a local community college named the College of Western Idaho. Attending a local CC made me realize that I want something more in life, so I invested in a camera and went all in on creating my own sports media company.
I did freelance work for local high school football teams, 7v7 football teams, and lineman training academies to gain experience. Through these local jobs I made connections which led me to getting into contact with the new Assistant Athletic Director, Creative Services & Football Video Coordinator at Nevada, Garrett Becker.
I hopped on a call with Garrett expecting to get some good advice about how to break into the sports media industry. I ended up being offered an opportunity to transfer to Nevada and take a creative media internship with Nevada Football. I jumped on this offer immediately recognizing that this is the opportunity I have been waiting for. Not only will I be a hands-on experience in the industry, I also vastly improved my educational experience in the business world.
Now, one season down, I am currently pursuing my business marketing degree while still doing offseason work for football, and running my freelance business. While this can be stressful, I love the challenge and attack every day with an excitement to improve. I have a lot of big goals that I will accomplish and my time here is just one stepping stone on the way there.
I expect to learn more about managing the ins and outs of running your own business once you scale it to the size that you need multiple employees. I have always enjoyed learning even if the subject is a little boring.
I enjoy being in the outdoors whether that’s backpacking, snowboarding, or mountain biking. As long as it is outside, I am a willing participant. Growing up in Idaho gave me lots of opportunities to become familiar with the outdoors and spent most of my summers in the wild with my dad and brother.
I am also a little bit of a nerd. I love to read and work out.
